S6E4 - #98: Safety Last! (1923)

Thrillseekers: Silent but almost deadly
Episode Notes
This week, we take on the oldest movie Amity has ever seen – 1923’s classic Safety Last! Known for it’s iconic images of Harold Lloyd hanging from a clock several stories above the ground, we dissect how this man – Harold Lloyd the character – got himself into this mess. But it’s pretty clear this may be a parable how lying only brings trouble – unless you are superhumanly skilled at pratfalls and climbing. It’s a thrilling watch for sure! Recommendations: Army of Thieves (Netflix); Spencer (Hulu); Ammonite (HBO Max); Landscape Artist of the Year (Amazon Prime) Next up: Blue Velvet (1986) [Paramount +) Email us at [email protected] Twitter: @latecomerspod Find Amity @ www.amityarmstrong.com and @AmityArmstrong on Twitter Our Facebook group is here for those who consent: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1754020081574479/
